British-Ugandan singer-songwriter Daudi Matsiko has returned with his fantastic new single, ‘Hymn’. It’s a very personal release about hope and hopelessness, that features guest vocals from members of the band Divorce, as well as his parents and siblings. His confessional lyrics are packaged within his modern take on folk, with delicate picking reminiscent of Nick Drake colliding calmly with contemporary percussion and pop-laced hooks. Daudi Matsiko’s new album, The King Of Misery, is due for release on January 19th, 2023 via Really Good. He explains that ‘Hymn’ “very much reflects the narrative arc of the album and is a cornerstone of the record as well as being an accurate reflection of my personal journey.” -Dan Peeke
